Traditions of men hinder God
which causes decay
separating man from his Lord
sometimes in subtle ways

when the Holy Spirit is quenched
God does not force His will
but rather leaves until the time
when people seek Him still

God’s Spirit must be free to move
when worship has begun
and man must let what God must do
no program must be run
____
a church must grow within itself
where God can change men’s hearts
conforming those to be like Christ
the heart is where God starts
____
and then the mind can be renewed
when His word is applied
God leads His people who obey
tradition can’t be plied
____
but man insists on his own way
playing church among the dead
no life inside where light can shine
tradition is what’s fed
____
God’s calling His church to obey
a spotless bride of worth
upon that day when Christ shall come
for His church to leave earth
